Welcome to 44th ISEO
Scientists, practitioners, experts of firms and wholesale companies and all other interested people are cordially invited to participate in the 44th International Symposium on Essential Oils (ISEO 2013) held at Budapest, Hungary. The topics of the symposium will include all aspects of essential oils and related natural products ranging from analysis, chemistry, biogenesis, taxonomy to biological activity and utilisation. Facilities and time will be provided for local or international companies to exhibit their product.
The organisers and all other Hungarian experts are pleased to welcome you in occasion of the Symposium. The Danubius Hotel Flamenco is chosen for the venue of this Conference. The choice was motivated by the fact that this Hotel is located nearby the buildings and Arboretum of our University, which is the centre of Hungarian horticultural sciences since 1853. One of the eminent subjects of the Faculty is the teaching and research on medicinal and aromatic plants, including species accumulating essential oils. During the Symposium you may spend some pleasant time between the buildings of the University walking through the paths of Arboretum.
The idea of the Symposium rose in 2010 in the Scientific Committee of ISEO and was motivated by the success of former ISEO Symposium, which was held in 2005 in Budapest as well as by Hungarian traditions of this scientific field. The Hungarian traditions are justified by facts, that the first Research Institute specialised for medicinal plants - including essential oil accumulating species - was established here at the beginning of the 20th century. The outstanding Hungarian results achieved in introduction and cultivation of medicinal and essential oil plants, as well as in chemistry, biology and industrial processing became known worldwide. During the Symposium a special tour is offered to the participant to visit Pannonhalma Monastery where a notable trace of these traditions exists even nowadays.
All experts interested in the new results of essential oil research as well as Hungarian achievements and traditions are kindly invited to come to Budapest and celebrate with us the outstanding days of our scientific field.
